The chapter 1 from the story anime of: Dante the demon slayer
The rain that fell over the city of Oakhaven wasn't water. It was a dark, crimson mist that smelled of ash and old blood.
Most people were locked inside their homes, praying for the night to end. But **Dante** was not most people.
Standing on the edge of a ruined skyscraper, the sixteen-year-old boy let the cold wind whip through his messy black hair. His sharp, amber eyes pierced through the darkness, locking onto a massive shadow moving in the alleyway below.
It was a Fiend—a low-ranking demon, but deadly nonetheless. It had six spider-like legs, a jaw filled with razor-sharp teeth, and eyes that glowed like burning coals. It was hunting.
"Target spotted," Dante muttered to himself, a cold, confident smirk playing on his lips.
He didn't feel fear. Fear was a luxury he had discarded years ago.
With a swift movement, Dante reached behind his back and drew his weapon: **Ignis**, a massive, jet-black greatsword. The moment his fingers wrapped around the hilt, ancient runes etched along the blade began to glow with a brilliant, fiery orange light. The heat from the sword instantly vaporized the crimson rain falling around it.
The demon sensed the sudden surge of spiritual energy. It snapped its head upward, letting out a horrific, ear-piercing screech that shook the windows of the nearby buildings.
"Yeah, yeah. Keep crying," Dante said, his voice dripping with adrenaline.
He didn't wait. Dante leaped off the edge of the skyscraper, plunging straight into the abyss.
As he free-fell through the air, the wind roaring in his ears, he flipped his body and held Ignis with both hands, pointing the blazing blade downward.
The demon tried to dodge, but Dante was faster.
**"Flame Burst!"** Dante roared.
A massive explosion of fire erupted from the tip of his sword, propelling him downward like a meteor. He slammed directly into the demon’s back. The impact shattered the concrete floor of the alleyway, sending a shockwave of dust and fire in all directions.
The monster howled in agony as Dante's blade sliced through its thick, armored hide. It thrashed violently, using one of its massive legs to whip Dante across the chest.
Dante blocked the strike with the flat of his blade, but the sheer force threw him backward. He skidded across the wet ground, his boots leaving tracks in the mud, before coming to a perfect halt. He wiped a drop of blood from his lip and smiled.
"Not bad," Dante laughed, his eyes flashing with excitement. "But you're still too slow!"
The demon charged, its jaw wide open, ready to swallow him whole. Dante stood his ground until the very last second. Just as the monster was about to bite, Dante slid underneath its belly, unleashing a upward slash.
A clean, arc of fire followed the blade, cutting the demon completely in half.
The creature didn't even have time to scream. Its body turned into black ash, dissolving into the wind, leaving behind only a small, glowing purple crystal on the ground—a demon core.
Dante sheathed his glowing sword back onto his back, the flames fading into embers. He walked over, picked up the crystal, and tossed it into the air, catching it with a satisfied grin.
"One down," Dante whispered, looking up at the dark sky where the crimson rain was finally beginning to stop. "A million more to go."
